Helpful consumer’s review
I replaced a Canon S700 IS with the red model of this Samsung L210. Before that I’ve had 2 other Canons and one other Samsung camera. Canons tend to take the best pictures and they use the standard SD memory unlike Sony cameras which I refuse to buy due to their insistence on using their own proprietary memory.
Reasons I bought this Samsung over my Canon
1. Ability to take low light pictures blur free. This was the BIG reason.
2. Ability to take video using mpeg4 compression, can fit hours on a 2gb card.
3. More manual control.
The dual image stabilization mode (digital processing + Optical Image Stabilization) works as advertised, I can take indoor natural looking pictures without flash, but there’s a catch. The camera takes two pictures and combines it. This taking two pictures mode means it takes a lot longer to take pictures. But it’s a small inconvenience to finally have nice looking indoor pictures (for those times when optical image stabilization doesn’t work well enough).
