Panasonic DMC-LS80K 8MP Panasonic DMC-LS80K 8MP features advanced, yet easy-to-use settings that help every type of digital photographer take great photos. Encased in a compact design and powered by AA batteries, the LS80 offers convenience and increased usability. With a newly-developed Lumix DC Vario lens system, 3x optical zoom and 8.1-megapixel resolution, the LS80 is feature-rich and user-friendly digital camera, all at an affordable price.

At the core of the DMC-LS80’s easy-to-use operation is a comprehensive system of intelligent technologies that operate within the camera automatically, without any extra effort from the user. The Panasonic Lumix LS80 integrates four distinct features aimed at making it easy to capture perfect images.

Another new intuitive technology of the LS80 includes the Intelligent LCD, which means the brightness of the LCD automatically adjusts as the ambient light level changes. With the Intelligent LCD, which comes with 230,000-dot high resolution, images are clear, bright and easy to see — regardless whether it is day or night; inside or outside.

You don’t have to be a digital camera expert to take great photos. Simply set the DMC-LS80 to Intelligent Mode and it’s easy to get clear, beautiful images every time you shoot. MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) will automatically detect and compensate for handshake, while Intelligent ISO Control helps prevent motion blur by sensing subject movement and adjusting the ISO setting and shutter speed accordingly. Get perfect close-ups, too, with the camera’s Macro mode, which automatically switches on when you bring the lens in close to a subject. A high-image-quality CCD with 8.1 effective megapixels combines with a 3x optical zoom lens to help you capture beautiful images in all kinds of shooting situations. The Easy Zoom button instantly extends the optical zoom and Extra Optical Zoom to full telescopic position. The 2.5″ diagonal LCD makes viewing and shooting easier and more comfortable. Intelligent LCD functions include Auto Power LCD for increased backlight brightness in the sun and Bright Live View, which automatically increases the brightness of live images according to the level of ambient darkness. This allows bright, easy framing of scenes that would normally be too dark to see on the LCD screen. f=5.5-16.5mm (35mm Equiv. – 33-100mm) Focal Length 2.5 Diagonal Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display (230K dots) Focusing Area Normal – 50cm – infinity, Macro / Intelligent AUTO – Wide 5cm / Tele 30cm – infinity 8 – 1/2,000 sec. Helpful consumer’s review
I researched and found this camera for my wife. She is not technologically oriented so I needed one that was simple yet took excellent pictures. This is it. So many features and the automatic settings are so intelligent. It is must have with image stabilization. Now, no pictures get blurred. It also has regular batteries that I replaced with rechargeable ones. She was thrilled at receiving it and the ease of using it. Panasonic did a great job. I bought a more advanced model for myself. My Lumix DMC-TZ3 model is great also.
