Fujifilm FinePix F650 6.0 MP

Fujifilm FinePix F650 6.0 MP Fujifilm FinePix F650 6.0 MP with a 4.4x digital zoom, this camera offers a 22x total zoom range that brings you closer to your subjects than ever before. Fujinon, Fujifilm sister company, produces these high-quality optics that are used by broadcasters, astronomers, scientists, the military and others to bring their subjects closer with crisp, clear image quality.

The F650 combines a high-resolution 6.0-megapixel CCD sensor and an advanced imaging processor to produce super-sharp, wonderfully-detailed images. 6.0 megapixels is more than enough for standard 4×6-inch prints, but if you’d like to make larger prints, or alter an image with photo editing software, the extra-resolution is a valuable asset. This camera might be compact and stylish, but the FinePix 650’s metal body boasts more than looks — a best-in-class, extra-large, 3.0-inch (230,000 pixel) LCD monitor fills the back of the camera. The big, brilliant display makes it a pleasure both to compose your shots, and then enjoy sharing them with friends and family afterwards. And the fast 60 fps refresh rate ensures a smooth, responsive image during framing and shooting.

Ever run out of digital storage just at the wrong moment? Not with the F650. With 16 MB of built-in storage you’ll never have to miss that special shot. Think of it as your internal insurance policy for those great, not-to-be missed photo opportunities. Amazingly easy to operate, all you have to do is switch-on the FinePix F650, and you’ll be ready to shoot. Controls have been arranged for easy, fingertip operation giving you quick access to all the camera’s great exposure modes and scenes. The full range of exposure modes includes auto, aperture-priority AE, shutter priority AE, manual, and movie modes. Plus, you get a generous selection of ten preset scene positions that include portrait, landscape, night, sport, beach and snow, sunset, museum, flower close-up, party, and text. Whatever the situation, the FinePix F650 makes it a snap to get great results.

Additional features include super macro mode (as close as three centimeters or 1.2 inches); 30 fps VGA-resolution movie recording with monaural sound for capturing quick, digital video snippits; FinePix Photo button for one-touch access to frequently used settings (image size, ISO sensitivity, and FinePix color mode); continuous shooting mode; a USB interface for PC connectivity; a video output for your TV monitor (NTSC/PAL) to display photographs on your television; FinePix Viewer software; PictBridge compatibility; and an xD-Picture card compatible slot. The FinePix F650 is powered by an included Lithium-ion rechargeable battery and charger.

Helpful consumer’s review
I am THRILLED with my new camera, which I’ve been using for the past few weeks now! (I’m only going to cover the highlights of this little gem, and respond to erroneous critiques that I’ve read.)

I have the Fuji Finepix 3500 also, which is a semi-pro camera with multiple lens, that I absolutely love. But since it’s now 2 years old it only has 3M pixs (not that that makes any difference for those of us who are not taking pro pictures)and I found this camera (various settings all the way up to 6.2M pixels) [...]. I went for it because I wanted a pocket/purse camera (the 3500 is like a 35mm Nikon in size)that didn’t weigh a lot – it weighs only 0.7 oz with the battery & xD card on board. 4″L x 2.5″H x 1″D. The lens retracts when it’s off, so it’s very compact.

I was intrigued with the fact that with this camera I could take up to 9 min sound videos (only 1 minute on the 3500) and it still had all the shooting modes for portrait, landscape, sports, night, fireworks, sunset, snow, beach, museum (no sounds and flash suppressed), and party!! That’s twice as many as my other camera. It also does most of the things that the bigger camera does, and number of things my other camera doesn’t do. It has a THREE inch viewing screen. This is SO great for those of us who now require reading glasses. I can actually manage without them :)

It also has 32MB of memory on board! So if you’re xD card runs out, it will carry the rest in the camera. Or if you’re not taking huge amounts of pics or going to use the video for more than a minute or two, you can go without the xD card (16MB comes with it). I use a 512MB because then I do longer videos and have hundreds of pictures when I’m travelling.
